Total eclipse of a year

Huh. I haven't posted anything in almost two months, but look. This blog is almost one year old! Maybe someday it will grow up to be a real smart blog with regular entries all about the same real smart topic. But for now it is still a meandering, no focus, whatever I feel like doing whenever I feel like doing it blog. Lately it seems to be a "lookey what I found on the internet" blog. So to continue down that road, look what I found on the internet.

Some people singing what Bonnie Tyler was thinking while making the stupid-weird video for Total Eclipse of the Heart.

The Sound of Music Train Station

If I lived in a musical, I would want to live in the Sound of Music Train Station.

The world is good.

Your mini Joan Osborne concert

I've been too busy to blog... busy doing things like seeing Joan Osborne at The Birchmere. She was fantastic of course. Apparently no one was surreptitiously videotaping and then posting on youtube. I suppose that's good. But it means I'll have to use video from other concerts.

She did a WAY AMAZING version of Help Me. Here it is from a Seattle concert last fall. At the Birchmere, she wore a little peach color embroidered sun dress, kicked off her shoes and pranced around like the she-goddess that she is.

She closed with When the Blue Hour Comes by Roy Orbison. Here it is from another concert in NYC>=.

During the encore, I admit I was one of the women calling out for Right Hand Man. Ah well, she was in more of a blue Roy Orbison mood. That's alright. Here's Right Hand Man from the Hard Rock Cafe in 1996.

It was a great night. Every evening, after work, we should all move and sing and shout and dance and moan like Joan.

Save our economy

Buy this dog hat! Do it now. Because dogs love you and I can prove it.

Right here.

And here.

Aw geesh. Reminds me of the boxers from my own childhood. Checkers. And Troubles. Wonderful dogs, who never had a hat. If only I could do it all over again... why, I'd knit them hats and mittens and coats. If only I knew how to knit.
